Acupuncture is Pain-Free and Effective

Acupuncture is a 3,000 year old healing technique of traditional Chinese medicine. Our West Orange Acupuncturist uses acupuncture to improve the body’s function while stimulating specific acupuncture pressure points in order to promote the body’s self-healing process.

Our acupuncturist utilizes thousands of years of proven Chinese medicine and today’s most advanced research to help heal and maintain the health of our patients. Through education, empowerment and teamwork, chiropractic and acupuncture will provide you with the tools to begin to heal your body.

Trigger Point Dry Needling at Our Acupuncture Clinic

The acupuncturist inserts small needles into the skin and muscle to release painful myofascial trigger points. The term “dry needling” is used because there is no solution injected into the body, as is the case with a hypodermic needle during a flu shot. With dry needling, the acupuncture needle itself produces the treatment.

When repetitive or overuse injuries occur, inflammation can be produced from the damaged tissues. The aggravated area becomes hypoxic (decreased in oxygen) which causes the body to produce scar tissue. When we place a needle into muscle, it will also produce a controlled lesion and cut between the individual muscle fibers. The body considers the needle a foreign invader and will activate the immune system as a response. The cut muscle fibers also produce an inflammatory reaction that your body will respond to in order to reduce inflammation systemically not just locally but all over the body.
